Lutheran ministry in Kamloops goes back to 1925 when Pastor Werning of Revelstoke conducted the first Divine Worship Service in a local home. Before long a chapel was built on donated land and Zion Lutheran Church was formed.
In 1955 a new church was built on Linden Avenue and dedicated as The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
In 1982 Lord of Life Lutheran was formed to serve the Valleyview area and was incorporated under the BC Societies Act November 20, 1985.
Soon a modern functional facility was completed in 1988-89 on our present site on Sunset Drive.
In order to better serve the greater Kamloops community, the two congregations amalgamated in 1996.
We give thanks to the Lord for His many years of blessing our ministry in Kamloops and area.
Glory be to God!
In 1517 an Augustinian Monk, and Doctor of The Church, Martin Luther, by studying Scripture and the works of past Church Fathers, discovered that The Christian Church of his day was corrupted by sin. The Church's anti-Scriptural practices that held the grace of God, which is acted out in His forgiveness of sinners through Jesus death on the cross, ransom. He tried to reform the corruption that had taken place in The Church by nailing 95 talking points to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany in the hopes of helping The Church correct her ways.
Luther held firm to the Biblical teaching that all humanity is sinful (falls short of God's Holy Law) and is freely justified (made right with God) by God's redeeming action of Jesus Christ's death on the cross for our sins.
Lutherans now are those who follow in Martin Luther's footsteps fighting for the unobstructed preaching of God's good news of Jesus Christ.

Lutheran Church-Canada is made up of confessional Lutheran churches across Canada who all believe, teach, and confess the one true Christian faith as found in Holy Scripture and properly explained by the 1580 Book of Concord.
Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Kamloops is a congregation of Lutheran Church-Canada (LC-C). Lord of Life falls under the Western region of LC-C whose head office is located in Edmonton, AB. The head office for all of LC-C is located in Winnipeg, MB.
Lutheran Church-Canada is a daughter synod of the much larger American-based Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). The LCMS was formed 1847 in Chicago, Illinois by Lutheran immigrants from Germany who continued to confess the ancient and true Christian faith Luther helped bring us back to.
From the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, Lutheran Church-Canada was formed in 1988 to better focus on Canadian ministry in a Canadian context.
Lutheran Church-Canada retains close ties with the LCMS as well as other Lutheran church bodies around the world which follow the Biblically-based Lutheran Confessions.
