Our services follow the historic Christian liturgy, which has been used around the world throughout the centuries. We sing old and new songs, from a variety of styles. Services come from the Lutheran Service Book; they are also printed in the bulletin and on the screen, for your convenience.
We believe that worship is less about what we do for God, and more about what He does for us! Our worship does include our praise and prayers to God. But more importantly, God gives us His gifts of grace through His word and sacraments.
Our Sunday services typically include Holy Communion, also known as the Lord's Supper. As Lutherans, we believe that through the bread and wine we receive the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, for the for the forgiveness of sins and strengthening of our faith. We also believe that sharing this meal expresses our shared faith as Christians and as Lutherans.
If you are not a member of our congregation or another in the Lutheran Church of Canada, please speak to the pastor before taking the supper. Those not partaking are welcome to come forward for a blessing, or remain in their seats if they prefer.
Children are welcome in our services! We believe in letting children participate with their families, rather than sending them to a separate setting. Little ones are not required to be still and quiet the entire time! We have grab bags on the way in with toys and amusements, as well as a play room adjacent to the sanctuary for those who need a break.
We do not have Sunday School classes every week, but we periodically offer First Communion class for grades 4-6 and Confirmation for grades 8-10. Click here to contact the pastor for more information.
